MyLittlePony wrote on 08/19/10 at 09:02:02:

Agreed, both are ugly, but if given the choice, Id say Soul too. The Nissan Pube is the ugliest thing around. I cant believe anyone would ever purchase one, yet I see so many. Is the xB not good enough for you people?!? I honestly dont know why they even call it the Cube. Theres not a single straight line or edge on that thing! Thats why I call it the Pube. Its ugly, disgusting, and you dont want to be anywhere near one, let alone see one. Every time I do, I throw up a little.

I say road course. Whoo hoo! Straight line!!!! I dont understand why people spend all day in the hot heat just to drive straight, let alone the people who just watch. It requires no skill whatsoever. If it cant stay on course either somethings seriously wrong with the car, or the driver. Whats worse is bracket racing. So you dont even have to be the fastest any more. Ive seen some big heavy automatic vans win!

Road courses are at least fun. They actually require skill from the driver. Car setup helps too. I see all these soccer moms lock up their breaks at the slightest bend in the road. The cool thing about road courses, is you actually learn from the experience. You learn to handle your car in the real world. Being able to control your car in any road hazard, may it be the idiot who pulled out without looking, or hydroplaning.

Its interesting. My dad and uncle used to drag funny cars back in the day, and now their children, me and my cousin, race on road courses. The only time I have ever taken my mustang to a drag strip, it was because there was a car show there.

I enjoy both the road course and the drag strip. I live about 15 mins from the local 1/8 mile dragstrip and about 25 mins from Virginia International Raceway. There is also another 1/8 mile track within 40 mins and (3) 1/4 mile tracks within 2 1/2 hr drive. There is also a couple of round tracks close by also.

The dragstrip does required more driving skill than most people think. Try keeping 700 hp going straight with a set of skinny tires and no front sway bar. Even just a moderately powered street car can be challenging. Trying to get the launch right without bogging down or blowing off the tires.

But I do enjoy the road course more! Going fast with twists and turns and varying elevation changes for 15mins, 30mins even 1 hr, to me, is way more fun than going an 1/8 or 1/4 mile in a straight line for a few seconds. Once during some parade laps in the rain at VIR I came around turn 5 with all 4 wheels drifting! And yes the techniques you learn here can be applied to everyday normal driving situations.

MyLittlePony wrote on 08/19/10 at 09:02:02:

Anyway...

Cats or Dogs?

Cats or Dogs? I can't decide. I have both and love them. But lets just say cats.
They are really independent and don't need as much attention. With dogs you've got to take them out to potty (if they're inside pets) and they constantly want to play and/or are barking and chasing cars. You've got to keep an eye on them sometimes. Even the best trained dog is mischievous at times. Cats make sure litter box is clean and they have food and water and they are good to go!

I will say that having an active dog will help one to stay in better shape! We currently have 4 cats and 3 dogs. The dogs love to play and go on hikes or swimming with us.

The mountains or the beach?

So Im riding in the car with my husband. He notices a gas cap sitting in the median turning lane. He then says, well that must suck. A few blocks away we then notice a slow moving car who is constantly braking, and drifting in and out of her lane. I then notice that her fuel door is wide open and and wonder "wouldnt it be funny if that cap was hers?" Most modern vehicles have these things permanently attached to prevent such an event from occurring.

Anyway, despite how slow she was going, and the danger involved in being around a person like that, naturally everyone matches speed with her (two additional lanes) which prevents me from checking. At a traffic light I was finally able to see. Sure enough no cap!!! I was going to tell her, but then I figured out why she was all over the road and driving so slow... ...she was on her cell phone!!! And I was raised not to bother someone while they are on the phone. She was probably on it while fueling up which was why her fuel door was open, and gas cap missing. My guess is, she left it on her roof, and it flew off while driving.

I dont understand some people. Even if someone called me while I was filling up, I would just finish the conversation there. If someone is waiting on me, Id just pull up, let them have my space, then finish the call. Ive seen streets backed up due to a series of people waiting for someone to back out. Because they are glued to their phone, they take forever to back out and leave. If it were me backing up, no one would wait! Even if my entire car was pulled out! Even my mom does this! I dont get it, youre parked, no ones waiting for you, why back out if you need to call someone?

I remember when animated theatrical releases were always 2D and whatever fancy CGI generated crap they used was mostly for camera angles, and didnt distract from the rest of the 2D world. I also remember when 3D movies was something you only heard about, and it involved cheesy paper glasses with red and blue lenses. And whatever clear lens 3D movie you saw, it involved some ancient attraction at disney world.

False.

Interestingly enough I always took first in my class, back when my car was a v6... ...even beat a 2004 v6 mustang, which had a lot more horsepower than me. Although comparing times to other classes, my 94 v6 was faster than an RX8, and even a Cobra!

The person below me also owns an import.

Mustang Talk - Does Your Car Have a Name?

Mine is named RedTwilight ZERO.

The red for obvious reasons.

Twilight came from two places. One as I'm a huge anime' fan came from an attack one character in one of the anime' used. It was called Starlight Sword Scream. The second from when I was driving down the road late in the evening as the sun was just about to go down past the horizon. In these "twilight" conditions it is hard to read the white face gauges. So as I was looking at the gauges during this light conditions some reason Starlight Sword Scream ran across my mind. Thinking on it a bit more while trying to read the gauge I put 2 & 2 together and came up with 5! LOL J/K Red Starlight didn't quite sound right. So I kept thinking and in the end Red Twilight was conjured up. It sounded good and so I decided upon that!

Now for the ZERO!
That also comes from anime'. Several anime have the strongest or more advanced, etc... robots, mobile suits, vehicles, and so forth named zero as part of their designation. One particular one was Mobile Suit Gundam: Wing. In it the main protagonist piloted the mobile suit Wing Gundam. As you would assume it was the most powerful of the Gundams until a new model was developed by the opposing forces and destroyed it. It was rebuilt and fitted with the "ZERO" system that increased it's speed and maneuverability to once again make it a formidable opponent. It was renamed Wing ZERO.

So from all of this RedTwilight ZERO was dubbed.
